Participating as an artist in Roxbury Open Studios is a great opportunity to show your work to hundreds of visitors. You have the opportunity to sell your artwork or services and to begin to develop important relationships. If you have questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for prompt answers. Your registration commits you to the entire event.
Roxbury Open Studios (ROS) is designed to support and promote the arts, artists and their work, giving the opportunity to develop face-to-face relationships with potential buyers. The public has a chance to purchase local art, inspiring community creativity and bringing hundreds of visitors to Roxbury.
Who: Any artist can participate by exhibiting original work created by the artist.

Where: * Melnea Cass Recreational Center 120 M.L.K Blvd, Roxbury
* Artists are allowed to open their own personal studios
When: Open Studios Date: November 2 & 3, 2019 11:00 am –7:00 pm
What: You may exhibit and sell all media of art including paintings, drawings, photographs, sculpture, digital art, jewelry, ceramics, fiber and mixed media. Absolutely no manufactured items or imports. All artwork must be created by the exhibiting artist. You may be asked to submit photos. You may be asked to remove items or asked to leave if we have questions about its process.
Opening Your Studio:
• All venues can be provided ROS signage for identification
• Notify us if your venue can support sponsor signage or banners
• Hang helpful, directional signage and maps where necessary
• Provide the coordinator marketing information for press releases and advertising
• Venues will be individually credited on the website
Display Systems / Table or Center floor Exhibits: If you display your work without the use of wall space, please inform us upon registration. You will be assigned a 10’x10’ (or less) space. You cannot hang anything on the walls.
Set Up, Opening & Removal: We will let you know if there will be a Friday setup. Being ready to go at opening time is mandatory. Do not break down early. Remove all property and trash on Sunday.
Stay with your Exhibit: Plan to attend and/or have someone present at all times during the show.
Sales: Sales are handled by each artist and we do not take a percentage. You may sell prints, other artistic projects and commission customized work for the future. It is suggested that you are equipped to accept credit cards.
Security: Group locations will be locked up at the end of the day by the management team.
Insurance and Liability: ROSC or Melnea Cass Recreational Complex and it's representatives assumes no responsibility for the value of your artwork. The artist is responsible for their own insurance against theft or damage at any time.
Once you submit your application, it will be reviewed the Roxbury Open Studio Collaborative Committee and you will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance within 24-hours by email. If you receive an acceptance email you will have (2) two days to submit payment. Accepted applications are assigned on a first come, first served basis.
